Get To Know Dana And Her Journey To Becoming a Certified Baby Sleep Consultant Worldwide
Hello and welcome! I'm so glad you found me.
I'm Dana, coffee lover, child wrangler and owner of Hush Little Cubs. I was born in Mount Gambier, moved to Naracoorte then ended up in a small seaside town of Robe, SA for 6 years. Where in that time had my two gorgeous little girls, Charlotte and Isla, before moving back to my hometown of Mount Gambier in 2023 .
I always wondered what i would end up doing in my life, and it wasn't until I became a mum to my first-born that i figured it out quickly. To be frank, it was when she entered entered the 4 month regression and literally flipped a switch; went from being an absolute dreamboat of a newborn to catnapping and waking several times a night. *Que intense sleep deprivation*
Before getting pregnant, no-one could prepare me for just how debilitating sleep deprivation can be and how much of an impact it would have on my mental and physical wellbeing. I was exhausted most days trying to look after myself and a baby that was struggling to sleep. I knew i couldn't live with the constant sleep disturbances forever so i took it upon myself to teach Charlotte to link sleep cycles like my life depended on it. I read blogs on different techniques, reading Q&A's on Instagram from well known sleep consultants... just trying to piece it all together on how to do it myself without spending the money. Some would call that determined.. but I call it STUPID!
How I thought my sleep deprived brain was going to work at a level that a trained sleep consultant would, is beyond me.
Looking back and now having studied the industry, I wish I spent the money. I could have been less stressed, more relaxed around sleep and more rested within a couple of weeks.. not months like it took me.
That's when I knew I wanted to be there for every mum that's struggling with their child's sleep, the impacts that come with that and for them to know they don't need to do it alone.
I look forward to working with all my future clients to achieve sleep success and be the helping hand I wish I had. What a privilege it is to be let into often vulnerable household's and help them feel more human again
It doesn't have to be this hard!
